Turbo 2003 Honda S2000

Here is a look at our recent Honda S2000 Turbo build up

The owner of this Honda S2000 came to us unsatisfied with the performance of his supercharged S2000.  After being beat on the street by a turbocharged Chevy Cobalt running 20psi, something had to be changed.  Looking for as much power as possible, without rebuilding the engine, he decided that a custom turbo set up from JE was the only way to go.

The first order of business was removing the Vortech Supercharger and Power Cooler.  Then we could begin the installation of a Precision GT 3528R turbo.  For safety measures, the head was pulled off so we could install a set of ARP head studs and a thicker Cometic head gasket to lower the compression slightly.  This will ensure that the head gasket will be safe under boost.

Next we installed a Themalnator Heat Shield Intake Manifold Gasket, by Sikky Manufacturing.  The Heat Shield Gasket will help keep intake charge temperatures down by minimizing the heat soak from the head to the intake manifold.

A JE Pro Fab custom turbo manifold routed the exhaust gas to the Precision Turbo.

Next, the exhaust traveled through a massive 4 inch JE Pro Fab downpipe, then continued through a custom 4 inch full exhaust, all made here at JE Import Performance.

With the JE Pro Fab turbo manifold, downpipe, and full exhaust completed, the next order of business was the intercooler and piping.  A massive 31.5 x 10.5 x 3.5 Precision intercooler was used, with custom JE Pro Fab mandrel bent 2.5 inch intercooler pipes created here at JE.  This setup will ensure that the intake charge is as cool and dense, creating as much power as possible.

With all of the fabrication completed, and everything installed, the next step was dyno tuning.  The S2000 was mounted onto our Dynapak Chassis Dynomometer for tuning.  After a few hours on the dyno, James had the Turbo S2000 putting out 460 whp @ 8800rpm and 304 ft/lbs of torque @ 6459 rpm, at a mere 14.5 psi of boost.

See the video below for the final dyno pulls, and a test drive.
