USDrift Round 3 @ Hyperfest 2007

What Happened:



Fireworks, Jumping bonfires with 4 wheelers, and dynamite were just a few of the highlights from Hyperfest 2007.  But none compared to coming home with the first place trophy.  For those of you who were there, it was a Hyperfest to remember.  If you missed it, you wouldn't understand.

James Evans, pilot of the JE Import Performance RB26 powered Nissan 240sx arrived on the scene friday afternoon for drifting practice on Summit Point Raceway.  Saturday morning the rest of the JE Import crew showed up anticipating an unforgetable Hyperfest........and they got it.




 



Saturdays practice session was limited due to the many other races going on throughout the day, but all drivers had a chance to hone their skills for the evenings competition.  James did well in qualifying, ranking 5th out of the 32 drivers battling for the top positions.   As the competition got underway, James stepped it up making high speed runs look like a walk in the park.  After a "one more time" in the semi-finals, James ended up beating the competition for first place.  It was a close battle, but in the end the RB26 powered 240sx and James where unstoppable.  A first place finish at this Hyperfest USDrift event has been a long time coming.  James attended the very first Hyperfest event, always finishing top 5 but never taking home first until this year.
